Who we are
Butler Concrete & Aggregate is a third generation-run operation that has served southern Vancouver Island for more than 80 years. Today, we are an industry leader adopting new technologies to pursue product quality and reduce our environmental impact. With a full suite of EPDs we have the lowest published embodied carbon values in North America. With many long-serving staff members, we take pride in our positive work environment and strong relations throughout the community.
We have a long-standing relationship with AMRISE (Lafarge Holcim) being one of the first customers to the Richmond BC cement plant. Our current operations consist of 5 concrete depots and 3 sand and gravel pits. Our growing fleet of over 45 10-metre concrete delivery trucks gives us the largest capacity in our service area. With almost 100 staff involved in the operations today, we anticipate continued growth in the years ahead.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Concrete Operations Manager, the Concrete Sales Manager plays a crucial role overseeing the sales team’s management of our existing sales portfolio well identifying new opportunities and fostering key relationships. This role will also be responsible for reviewing and quoting large commercial material supply requests and communicating with estimators, engineers, and project owners ahead of award. Throughout a project, you will continue and/or guide communication with on-site personnel and materials engineers to ensure the project is well served with product and service.
The role is also responsible for maintaining the value-added concrete materials including, recommending, and sourcing new products, coordinating sales training, and preparing marketing materials. It fits into a structured team led by the Concrete Operations Manager with key team members in concrete production and quality control working alongside you to deliver overall success.
As the national leader in environmentally considered concrete the ideal candidate would also be clearly versed in EPD’s and what having the lowest GWP values means to a project. Understanding the LEEDs points system and GWP reporting as is now required within the city of Langford would be a great asset.
