THE POSITION

Reimagine Work is looking for a Talent Acquisition Coordinator to join our small team as a contractor. Experience running full-cycle recruitments for tech roles is a requirement - we need someone who knows the difference between technical skillsets and is familiar with Canada’s startup scene. 

Ideally, you’ll have 2+ years of experience in high-volume recruitment and are already well-versed in handling every step of the process independently. You understand the typical roles found in modern tech teams and can quickly differentiate between skill sets like backend vs. full-stack engineering, DevOps vs. IT, or data science vs. analytics. You’re also comfortable leading remote interviews and working with hiring managers and tech leaders in small, agile organizations. You’re flexible, self-driven, organized, and able to go with the flow. Most of all, you're self-started and are able to manage your schedule and calendar with a lot of autonomy. 

THE NUTS AND BOLTS

  • Remote work; BC candidates preferred (we’re Victoria-based and eventually we’d like to meet you in person)

  • Hours will vary depending on workload and your interests – let’s talk!

  • Previous experience recruiting in the tech sphere, in Canada and ideally in the US as well, is a must

  • Proven experience to connect with and land candidates in a variety of technical roles

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Drive the candidate experience to make sure it’s top-notch at every step, whether you’re winning over an applicant or delivering tricky feedback

  • Own the hiring processes from leading interviews, to participating in offer conversations

  • Collaborate with clients to develop position-specific selection criteria and assessment processes

  • Draft job descriptions and job postings, post new roles, conduct pre-screens and interviews for a variety of positions

  • Source candidates using a variety of channels and networks

  • Become an expert at navigating our internal systems and processes, with a constant eye for improvement and streamlining things

  • Work in a variety of ATS platforms

WE LOOK FOR

  • 2+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience, specifically in the tech industry in Canada/US (high volume recruitment a plus)

  • Some exposure and interest in People and Culture practices 

  • Strong understanding of recruitment best practices, and able to educate our clients on why doing it right matters

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (you can spend most of the day on video calls and enjoy it)

  • Flexible and adaptable – someone who can roll with the unexpected and change tack when needed, while still keeping sight of what’s important

  • Independent and self-motivated, with the confidence to reach out if you get stuck and a willingness to collaborate with your team

  • Experience using ATS software

  • Confidence with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
