About Roots & Rivers
Roots & Rivers is a values-first consultancy that supports social purpose and public service organizations across Canada. We bring creative, community-centered, and collaborative approaches to enable meaningful social, environmental, and economic change. We offer interconnected services (strategy, facilitation, and evaluation) to support organizations in reaching their desired impact.
How We Work
Roots & Rivers is an ecosystem of individuals collaborating to strengthen the capacity of values-aligned organizations across Canada. Equity, curiosity, transparency and care shape how we work, with our clients and with each other. Our approach is flexible, relational, and grounded in deep respect for the people we work with. Many of our collaborators are independent contractors, and we have the privilege of learning from and with them as Roots & Rivers continues to grow and evolve.
About the Role
We’re looking for a thoughtful, adaptable, purpose-driven strategist, facilitator, and relationship builder to join our team as a Service Lead - Strategy Facilitation. In this role, you’ll design and deliver high-quality strategy facilitation, manage client projects, and help strengthen our network and presence in BC. You’ll work closely with our core team and contractors, nurture strong client relationships, contribute to business development, and contribute to both the delivery and the backbone of our work. You’ll report to the CEO and have autonomy and flexibility in how you deliver your work.
If you’ve seen what’s not working in the social purpose sector and you’re eager to be part of building something more intentional, more thoughtful, and more values-aligned, we’d love to hear from you. Bonus if you’ve sat on a board, have experience in a consultancy or have navigated strategic planning from the inside.

Facilitate board and senior-leadership strategy sessions
Lead client projects, from scoping to delivery

Help shape R&R’s organizational culture and ways of working

What You Bring
Expertise in facilitation, strategy, organizational development, or a related field
Experience working with social purpose or public service organizations
Experience managing complex projects and teams
Facilitation expertise and ease (in-person and virtual)
Training or experience with equity, anti-oppression, and inclusive practices
A collaborative work ethic, balanced with strong self-management
Exceptional communication and organizational skills

Bonus: Experience in a consulting environment
Bonus: Facilitation Certification
Bonus: Proposal writing and business development experience
What We Offer
3 weeks paid vacation, 2 weeks holiday shutdown in December, 3 paid cultural leave days, paid Birthday off, and a stat holiday swap policy
