Woodward is seeking a highly qualified Human Resources Director to join its dedicated and proficient team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in Human Resources and exhibit a thorough understanding of the discipline's place within Indigenous organizational contexts.
What You’ll Do
Develops and implements HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the Firm’s overall business strategy.
Oversees the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention of top talent to meet the Firm’s staffing needs.
Manages performance appraisal systems, compensation, and benefits administration.
Ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Advises senior management on HR matters, including organizational structure, workforce planning, and employee relations.
Designs and leads employee engagement, training, and development programs.
Handles complex employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
Maintains and updates HR policies and procedures.
Oversees HR metrics and analytics to inform decision-making and measure HR effectiveness.
Promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the Firm.
What You’ll Bring
A post-secondary degree in Business Administration or related field.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Comprehensive knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulatory requirements.
Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is preferred.
Key Competencies
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that support Firm goals in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment.
Experience with HRIS systems and data analytics.
Strong problem-solving and resourcefulness using good decision making or judgement.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Advanced use and knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft 365 application (Teams, OneNote, and OneDrive).
Experience working with Indigenous nations, communities, businesses, or organizations would be considered an asset.

Woodward offers flexibility with a hybrid work model. We anticipate a full-time in-office presence throughout the first 3-to-6 months for someone working in this position.
