Who We're Looking For

As the Operations Manager, you are the heartbeat of our store network, ensuring that our standards aren't just met but perfected. You are an operations professional, and you possess the "eagle eye" needed to audit a store and immediately identify opportunities for better merchandising, tighter inventory control, or leadership coaching. You take pride in turning Store Managers into confident, high-level leaders and ensuring our "floor-ready" standards are consistent from Victoria to Nanaimo. You are a data-driven decision-maker who can dive into a P&L statement, diagnose and fix a performance gap, and implement operational efficiencies to both protect our margins and drive overall growth.

What You'll Do

Leadership & Strategic Growth

  • Own oversight of store-level leaders to ensure they consistently meet the highest standards of accountability.

  • Conduct weekly strategic one-on-ones with the General Manager to review KPIs and present data-driven recommendations for profitability.

  • Liaise with HR and Finance to update SOPs and ensure payroll and administrative policies are seamlessly integrated into daily operations.

  • Coach and develop store leaders consistently and effectively. 

Operational Excellence

  • Conduct regular, deep-dive store audits to ensure 100% compliance with Liquor Plus standards.

  • Serve as the primary link between the Buying department and all store locations, ensuring promotional stock is ready and displays have maximum visual impact.

  • Oversee facility maintenance and equipment standards, empowering managers to maintain "like clockwork" operations.

Financial & Inventory Mastery

  • Analyze financial statements and sales reports to identify trends and implement corrective actions for productivity and cost control.

  • Own the inventory process, including brand-wide shrink targets, spot checks, and participating in physical inventories three times per year.

  • Audit store-level pricing systems and conduct competitive market audits to provide actionable insights to the Buying team.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years of experience in Operations Management, including overseeing multiple retail locations (liquor, grocery, or high-volume retail preferred).

  • Proven ability to interpret P&L statements, manage complex labour budgets, and drive bottom-line results.

  • Advanced proficiency in POS systems, Inventory Management Software, and the Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel for data analysis).

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to act as a strategic liaison between store teams and head office leadership.

  • Demonstrated success in performance management and holding high-level leaders accountable.

  • Familiarity with BC Liquor laws and LCRB regulations is a significant asset.

  • Competitive base salary ($90K – $105K) plus a performance bonus ($10k - $15K) tied to profitability and targets

  • Occasional evenings and weekends
